St. Vincent's Snapshot - March 2025 Everything to Look Forward to in March 2025
As we approach the season of Lent, we prepare ourselves for this 40-day journey with Jesus to the foot of the cross. Pope Francis invites us to “journey together in hope," as we continue this Jubilee Year as "Pilgrims of Hope." We continue to pray for the health of Pope Francis and all those who experience pain and illness in body, mind, and spirit.

If you're unable to join us in person, we continue to make our Masses available online, both as recordings and through Facebook livestreams. No matter where you are, you are always welcome to join us at the table.Ash Wednesday
On March 5, we begin our Lenten journey towards Easter. We mark the beginning of the season with multiple opportunities to receive ashes and continuing opportunities for prayer and reflection.

Italy 2026 Information Session
On Sunday, March 2, at 9:45am, Elizabeth will offer information on the itinerary and costs for a parish trip to Italy, October 10-24, 2026 with an optional 2-night extension in Rome. Cities included are Venice, Florence, Assisi, Sorrento and Rome.
Fall 2025 Preschool Enrollment is Open
Enrollment for Fall 2024 is open now for our Preschool, located in the Parish Center. Our program is for 3 and 4 year olds, with options for two or three mornings a week. Space is starting to fill up for the fall, so reach out if you're interested!

Faith Formation at Any Age
Join us for events to help deepen your understanding of the Word.
Family Faith Formation Day
Join us on Sunday, March 9 after the 11am Mass for lunch, followed by music, faith sharing, crafts, and more as we discover the deep faith in the heart of the story of Esther. All are welcome! Please register if your family is not already part of our PreK-12 Faith Formation program.
Hope & Gratitude
On Wednesday, March 26 from 7-8:15pm on Zoom, Fr. Himes, OFM, will reprise his presentation on hope and gratitude, how those virtues are presented in scripture and their place in our lives as Christians during these trying times; this will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
Teen Summer Service Trip
This summer, a group of parish high school students (rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders) will travel to Philidelphia to serve at the St. Francis Inn the week of July 28-August 1. Any interested teens should contact Ellen and Corrina for more information!
Lenten Book Discussion
Join the Adult Faith Formation group for a book discussion on Marcus Borg's “The Heart of Christianity” - a six-session Zoom series beginning Monday, March 3 at 7pm. The Zoom link and discussion guide are available on the parish website.

Presentation on the 2013
Worship Space Rededication
Father Dick Vosko will provide an illustrated presentation about the 2013 “award winning enhancement” to our parish worship space on Sunday, March 9 at 9:45am between the Masses on the upper level of the Parish Hall.
Chili Cookoff (At Last!)
Previously postponed due to weather - Support our Youth Ministry's summer events and join us for the Chili Cookoff & Chocolate Sunday, with baked good available on March 22 and 23, and the chilis available for sampling and voting after the 11am Mass on March 23.
Bereavement Group
Our monthly support group for those in the midst of the grieving process will meet in the Chapel on Tuesday, March 25 at 10am. All are welcome.

Christ the King
Composer Dan Schutte, whose music includes "Here I Am, Lord" along with more than 150 other hymns, will lead a two-hour evening of song on March 28 beginning at 7pm. Hosted by the Ignatian Volunteer Corps Albany, Mr. Schutte will also lead a Lenten retreat from 9:30am-12:30pm on March 29, also at Christ the King. Admission is $15 for each day or $25 admission for both days. Ticket and sponsorship information can be found at www.ivcusa.org/Schutte.

Easter Delivery Signup
Sign up the weekend of April 5-6 to deliver Palms and Easter treats to parishioners who are homebound or in nursing homes. Palms and gifts can be picked up after the Masses on the weekend of April 12-13 (Palm Sunday) and delivered anytime during that week.
